Membership Information
Professionally managed municipalities in southeastern Pennsylvania interested in joining the Delaware Valley Workers' Compensation Trust should complete the Trust's membership application and supplements which are available on-line under the "Membership" page. In addition to the completed application, prospective members will need to submit copies of the current insurance policy, payroll audits for the past three years, and a five-year loss run in order to obtain underwriting approval.
The Trust's risk control manager and two-thirds or the current membership must approve all applicants. Membership requires the adoption of an ordinance and the execution of the Trust Agreement. A minimum two-year commitment to the program is required. All applicants must be approved by a 2/3rds vote of the current membership.
The Trust does not pay brokerage commissions to insurance agents or brokers.
The Trust levies a $250 application fee to help offset underwriting expenses. If the applicant joins, the $250 application fee is applied as credit to the members' first year premium contribution. If the Trust rejects a prospect's application, the $250 application fee is refunded to the applicant.
Presentations before governing boards or committees are both available to applicants upon request.
